A weekly Learning Lab
Each week of the 12-week semester has its own page: that week’s topics, the handout, and a short list of hand-picked videos. No hunting, no rabbit holes.

Guitar learning, built in a real classroom
Strum Together follows your group class week by week, so students always know what to practice and instructors always know what everyone else is teaching.

There’s no shortage of guitar lessons online. That’s the problem for a new player: you go home to practice the G chord, and twenty minutes later you’re watching someone shred a solo you won’t be ready for in years.
Students in an in-person class need the right next step, matched to what they just learned, on the phone or iPad they already carry. Strum Together is one place that follows the class, hyper-focused on how we teach.
What students get
Each week of the 12-week semester has its own page: that week’s topics, the handout, and a short list of hand-picked videos. No hunting, no rabbit holes.
Every open chord we teach, with a diagram and a photo of the hand shape. Tap one and it fills the screen, so you can prop your phone on the music stand and play.
Class songs with a bouncing ball that shows the next chord change in time. It starts slow, counts you in, and can speed up a little every few rounds as your changes get cleaner.
The parts of the guitar, a built-in tuner, and a printed workbook that ties it all together for students who’d rather have paper in a binder.
Where it’s going
Strum Together is under development alongside the Instruments 4 Success guitar class, with release planned for late Q1 2027. The next steps come straight from what that class needs.
Each level is a semester. Many students take Level I and move on; others come back for more.
An admin can set up a new semester in a few clicks.
As programs grow, each new location gets the same lessons, songs and tools on day one.
Strum Together can help other group programs get students playing together. If you’d like to talk about bringing it to your students, get in touch.
Get in touchSince 2018 I’ve volunteered teaching guitar to veterans, first with Guitars for Vets, and for the past three years with Instruments 4 Success, a program that puts guitars in veterans’ hands and teaches them to play together as a group. Along the way I built a few small web tools for our students. They kept growing, and became Strum Together.
The founder of the Strum Together Learning Platform has over 30 years of application development experience, and has been a guitar player for over 45 years.
Strum Together is provided to Instruments 4 Success for free under license. Read the full introduction.
